Meet Laredo: The Texas-bred, LA-based songwriter with psychedelic vocals and a Lauper-like aesthetic you won't be able to get enough of.
We teamed up with Laredo to premiere her self-directed music video for "The Gun," a single off of her Thelma EP, coming out this Saturday. "The Gun," a garage-rock sound with an Old Western story line, acts as an auditory homage to classic films including Kill Bill and True Grit.
"When I wrote 'The Gun,' I imagined it almost as a scene in an Old Western movie. A song of revenge set in a different time," Laredo says. "It tells the story of a young woman finding the strength to draw a gun against a man who wronged her...he is the man who killed her father and she is ready to take revenge." You can listen to Laredo's cinematic single on her soundcloud.
If you're chilling on the West Coast this winter, be sure to check out Laredo's EP release concert on December 22nd at the Bootleg Theatre in Los Angeles. Get your tickets here.
